New Tax Credit For Home Wind Power
Did you install a small windmill to produce electricity for your home in 2008? If you did, you may qualify for a tax credit of up to $4000 of the cost of your system. If you install a home windmill this year, you’ll still get this fantastic tax credit – in effect, a huge sale on home-generated electricity! Claim your $4000 today by building your own windmill.
The tax credit, added to the economic stimulus act signed by President Bush on Oct. 3 2008, provides a credit of up to 30% of the cost, including materials and labor for wind, solar and geothermal projects. The limits are $2000 for solar or geothermal projects, $4000 for wind power and $500 for each one-half kilowatt of fuel cell capacity.
These tax credits are designed to stimulate the use of alternate energy generation for individual homeowners, and to supplant the use of natural gas and fossil-fueled electricity generation.
Wind produced energy was added in 2008 under the Residential Energy Efficient Property Credit act.
So, what are you waiting for? The time for adding an alternate energy source to your home has never been better. And, thanks to these tax credits, you can effectively knock thousands of dollars off the price for personal energy independence.
Now that you know you’re going to save thousand$$ on your home windmill project, here is a great start to help you find windmill plans!
